During summertime the festivities are moved to the street but even during the Winter you can enjoy Summer at Tiki’s, a cool Hawaiian surf bar famous for its Rockabilly style. Perhaps the owner, wearing his signature tiger printed shirt, might hand you your drink. Sit back and enjoy the Hawaiian murals with a beer in your hand. It is too busy here to dance, but it is a great place to relax with a tropical drink.

Camping
Camping is easy to spot as it’s bright pink walls beckon you inside. It opened in 2008 and is a local favorite for a fun night out. The philosophy behind Camping is “alles mag, niks moet" which means everything is allowed but there is nothing you have to do. You really get that carefree holiday vibe here. Along with a love of the color pink, the owner also loves hip hop, so that is the music of choice. Just do not come with any expectations, because a night at Camping is always full of surprises!

Witte Aap
Another vibrant place is de Witte Aap, a traditional Dutch cafe which is always jam-packed both inside and out during the weekends. The crowd is in their thirties (you must be at least 21 to enter). . This is a great place to hang out and catch up with old friends or make some new ones. Keep in mind, Witte Aap is VERY popular, this means it is always crowded! Right next door there is a snackbar and a donner, so if you get hungry when you are at the Witte Aap, you don’t have far to go.

Bar DP96
Bar DP96 is a stylish cocktail bar, decorated in chrome and jet-black. The cocktails are spiced up with herbs and crushed ice and upstairs they often have free art exhibitions. The vibe can be a bit uber cool, but they have a great terrace with live performances. So have fun and…Salute!

IEZ
If you are getting tired of listening to hip hop everywhere you go, head over to IEZ. You can enjoy ska and funk music until the wee hours of the morning. If you are an aspiring DJ, show off your talent during their free DJ hours where guest DJs can come in and spin. This has a relaxed atmosphere for young and old and large windows perfect for people watching.

Oase Bar
If you still aren't done partying by 5am and you want a good laugh, head on over to Oase Bar. You get a tab and don't have to pay until you are ready to leave, but be careful you don't drink more than you have money to pay for! If you have had enough to drink you can try your hand at Karaoke, which they offer most nights. There is always a wide variety of people; basically lots of drunks who still aren't done partying by 5am.
