Rotterdam Airport

Rotterdam has a small international airport where you can book flights to cities like Rome, London and Alicante with Transavia (www.transavia.com) or VLM Airlines (www.flyvlm.com). Several buses run back and forth between the airport and the city center. The ride takes 20 minutes. City Bus number 33 acts as an airport shuttle and leaves from Central Station Mon-Fri between 5.58am-12.29am, Sat from 6.28am-12.13am, Sun from 8.28am-12.13am; airport to city Mon-Fri 5.38am-12.29am, Sat between 6.08am-11.53pm, Sun between 8.08am-11.53pm. Bus number 50 is an express bus that stops at Wilhelminakade, Station Blaak, Central Station, and Rotterdam Airport. Bus line B12 is for very early & very late transport. Take it from Bentinckplein which is a 10 minute walk from Central Station. Take the Henegouwerlaan north. The Bentickplein is at the intersection of Statenweg/Benticklaan/Walenburgerweg.

A taxi ride from Rotterdam Central Station to Rotterdam Airport costs around € 20.-.

Schiphol Airport

Schiphol Airport Amsterdam is the largest international airport in the Netherlands flying to almost all destinations in the world. There is a train station located underneath the airport. A direct train ride from Schiphol to Rotterdam takes 50 minutes. Intercity trains depart three times an hour daily. The night train departs once every hour and rides from Utrecht CS - Amsterdam CS - Schiphol CS - Leiden CS - Den Haag CS - Delft - Rotterdam CS.

The fare of a single 2nd class ticket is € 10.50. Get your train tickets from the yellow NS self service ticket machines or at the service desk (€ 0.50 extra). Most ticket machines accept debit cards and the card will slide out right after inserting it!! Then type in your pin code. There are also some machines that accept coins.
